In character design class we had to come up with a character that we will animate in animation class that will lift a heavy object, struggling and eventually tossing it. I did an Oviraptor dinosaur, the ones who like to steal eggs, and he will be picking up a large egg. In the animation I will do extra animation in which the egg will hatch after he throws it, and out pops a baby T-Rex with giant jaws who will chew on Oviraptor's head haha.
First animation project of the year, this one was done over the course of a few weeks, since we had many things to animate (a wave first, then boat, then flour sack character, a splash, then adding surface detail onto the wave.)
Last animation assignment for the year, we had to animate a flour sack combining everything we learned in the year with action, acting, ect. I thought the flour sack was too cute to kill with the guillotine haha. Instead I decide to be a little funny and give him a tongue that he sticks out at the guillotine as if to say "haha! Missed me!"
For painting we had to do a real animation cel like they used to do before computers, so we painted a background and the character separate from the background on a sheet of acetate. It took forever and painting and inking the cel were annoying. I had to do multiple layers on paint on the cel and had the problems of one color peeling off and me having to start over on that. The cel itself took over 5 hours! Now I see why they don't do this anymore xD But I still miss hand painted backgrounds in movies.
The cel is taped to the background. And yessss, harmonica playing cat. Because they're awesome.
Did this in Digital Tools class. It was annoying to put together, I really don't like animating on computers. The puppet, despite how simple it looks, was extremely complicated and so many things went wrong when trying to put it together.
Did this a while ago but I haven't updated this for a while. Also it made it onto the wall as was up there for a few weeks so it took a while to get back to me. I don't like how the grass turned out at all.
Final project for character design class. We had to do 8 poses and 8 expressions of a character we came up with...and fit it all onto one 8.5x11 page. So I was pretty much playing Tetris trying to arrange all of this haha. Okapis are cool and weird animals, so I wanted to make a character out of one. And yes, they do have long blue tongues.
We had to make a character and draw them as a baby, kid, teenager, adult, and senior. It was a lot of fun x3 I especially loved drawing the 70s hair and the 80s big hair h
